Goodbye, Things

This book helps us reconsider our material possessions and find more focus and happiness.

I liked “Goodbye, Things” by Fumio Sasaki for how unpretentious and yet profound it is. The author – a Japanese book editor - shares his personal story of gradually getting rid of unnecessary things, and becoming happier in the process. To many, his approach would seem too radical. Some will be happy to follow it to the letter. Others will strike their balance somewhere in between. Reducing the number of possessions we have is not a goal unto itself, but a way to focus on what it’s truly important and find our own balance.

I wonder if this time of working from home is an ideal moment to give some of these ideas a try…
